I'd love to discuss Mrs. Dalloway further - Woolf packed so much into this short novel that it is always helpful to have a different point of view. And I'll be sure to read your review, too.

I have To the Lighthouse at home. I'll let you know when I start it. :)Masanobuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00128039987943942637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4764462620169151126.post-53042271883096889072013-07-22T16:19:18.026+01:002013-07-22T16:19:18.026+01:00A wonderful and insightful review! If you have time, my review is posted on my site and I would love to hear what you think of it or perhaps, we can discuss this novel further? I plan on reading it again very soon.

I'm glad that you mentioned the novel's homosexual undertones, the clever use of time and its preoccupation with death--the latter being, of course, one of the more fascinating and preeminent concerns of Woolf's writing.

I agree with you that it isn't a 'difficult read' in the traditional sense but there is so much going on that it can be disorienting in its style and challenging to fully understand all of its meanings, which of course, is one of its great strengths. This is a novel full of tremendous depth that you can read over and over again and still discover new aspects or qualities. Yes, it's obvious, I absolutely love this novel and am a huge fan of Woolf. I would really like to see what you think of "To the Lighthouse." :)

Jason Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08334917645691982404noreply@blogger.com
