Book Blogger Hop: When do you post your reviews?

The question for this week is: Do you post your book reviews as soon as you have completed the book or do you wait a few days?

Sometimes, my head starts composing reviews of its own accord while I'm reading the book. The only thing I can do then is jump to write the review as soon as I finish reading. Those are the easiest reviews.
Sometimes, though, I know what I want to talk about but I can't put my thoughts into words. I try to come up with a list of what I liked and disliked about the book, sleep on it and expand the list until it looks like a review.

In any case, I try to write my book reviews as soon as I can, so I can capture my reaction to the book in question. However, when it comes to posting them, it's a completely different matter. When I started this blog, back in April, I posted them as soon as they were written. I've only recently started to feel comfortable with a blogging schedule, and now I try to post book reviews once a week, every Wednesday.

  1. I try to write and post my reviews straight after I've finish the book, but sometimes it can be a few days after.

    1. I think this might be the best strategy after all, since you can really comment and discuss with the book fresh on your mind.

  2. I compose my reviews as I read too. :)

I also put them into an e-mail and keep revising until the final copy.

Nice to hear I am not the only one who writes as I read.

    Nice blog.

    ENJOY your week.

    Happy Hopping!!

    2. Thanks for coming back and asking about Bellman & Black. It is a bit slow, but not bad. Hopefully it will get better.

I have heard mixed reviews as well.

I see you are in Spain. Have you read SHADOW OF THE WIND by Carlos Ruiz Zafon? LOVED that book. I had to go to Barcelona after reading his book. :)

      Adios.

    3. Yes, I have, but I'm afraid I didn't love it. While I liked the Cemetery of Forgotten Books, the overall story and the characters, I have some problems with Zafón's use of Spanish. I suspect the books have gained something in translation. On the other hand, I love his YA novels.

But I understand your need to visit Barcelona now. And it is every bit as beautiful as you expect!

  4. I wrote a few reviews on another blog I have, but I must be honest and admit that I got bored writing them. So, I started wondering what would be fun for me. So, I decided to create a blog to show my literary gift findings. It’s not a traditional book blog, but I enjoy looking for new items and sharing them on my blog.

I’m now following you on Bloglovin and Pinterest.
And thanks for visiting my blog.

  5. It's better to write the reviews right away, as soon as you finish a book, regardless of what your blog post date is. But sometimes when I like a book too much I become short of words.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
